W6YDD supports Sweep Riders of The Sierra. They are a group of horse riders that are Amateur Radio Operators. They keep track of participants in events in the Sierra Mountains such the Tevis Cup Horse ride which is a 100 mile ride on the Western States trail. The sweep riders provide aid to participants in need. The sweep riders track the very last participants and clear the trail making sure no one is left behind. The W6YDD repeaters are used by the Sweep Riders for training and pleasure hikes, runs, and horse back rides in the Sierra Mountains.
